Creating & Naming Materials

Steps:

  • Select Object(s) – Click the object(s) in the 3D Viewport.
  • Open Material Properties – Press N to open the sidebar, then go to the Material tab.
  • Create a New Material – Click + to add a material slot, then click New.
  • Rename the Material – Click the name field (default: "Material"), enter a new name, and press Enter.
  • Adjust Properties – Modify color, roughness, metallicness, and other attributes as needed.

Assigning Materials to Other Objects

  • Select an object, open the Material dropdown, and choose an existing material from the list.
